My husband, Ron, and I established Rokida Fjords in 1987. I'll never forget that first visit in Wyoming - we drove over pipe gates to see Fjord horses in a large field and were mobbed by them. They were in the back of the truck pulling things out, with noses in the cab to be petted. That was it! Forget about just a team, which was our original plan. I had to have those fuzzy babies on the farm. From there we started looking around at more Fjords, and decided that we wanted the larger type. They just suited our purposes better. We have been so pleased with the breed as a whole, and had so much fun with them! Our philosophy has been to produce a few quality Fjords each year. Since Ron passed away in 2004, I've cut my herd down considerably. I still have some horses for sale, and list horses for others. Lee stands at stud and is just as impressive as ever. His great size and outstanding temperament are awesome. Everybody loves Lee. |
